Briefly in English » Degrowth Finland
The interdisciplinary conference is targeted at academics, activists and  experts working in the fields of economy, politics, social welfare and environment but it is aimed also at the broader public and the media. The  programme of the conference is designed to enable discussion  between keynote speakers, politicians, activists and experts and it aims to make the concept of degrowth more widely known in Finland. The conference is free of charge and we expect audience of around 500 people. Conference languages are English, Finnish and French and a translation from French to English will be organised.

Mission
The Culture Laboratory Collective comprises a diverse group of artists working loosely around the question of socialcohesion within the context of aesthetic fragmentation. While focusing collectively on a synthetically established social identity the work presented paradoxically strives to break free of group-think aesthetics in favor of the individual voice, the point of dissonance opposing the attempt at collaborative cohesion. Retaining a focus on craft and the object, Culture Laboratory Collective operates as an ongoing investigation in media interchangeability and aesthetic fluidity.

dream 3 july 2008
I was at my parents' house and Will Smith was coming over to visit. I wanted to prepare him a glass of fresh-squeezed OJ, so I started juicing oranges. My mom's juicer was massive - a big circular disc like a 18" pizza, with the juicing nub in the middle. I was trying to impress Mom because I was friends with Will Smith but she didn't seem to know who he was. I finally had to yell "He was the Fresh Prince!" but she still didn't know who I was talking about.

Of course in the usual rush of packing for a trip, I took the good digital camera which had a dead battery. So as usual, these photos are disappointingly taken by my mobile phone.

This is the ceiling (shot from the floor); there are also acoustic devices embedded here.

The room, while very large, still felt cozy.
Dsc00049
I think this was designed in the 1950's; it has flourishes of mid-century futurism, yet is also extremely grounded.
Dsc00048
I was quite taken by this room, which was striking and beautiful yet conformed to the Scandinavian principles of functionalism etc. Here, the wall is molded for acoustic properties, allowing sound from the front of the room to carry to the back without amplification and without too much echo.

More photos from the University of Århus that I meant to post last week. These are all of the 'Great Hall', used for commencement ceremonies et al.

Stopped on the Tyne. Taking the East Coast train line seems like a good idea cause there’s wireless which means I can do asinine stuff like post photos to this blog live from the train. But it’s broken down three times so I’m gonna be well over an hour late. It just stoped here, right on the bridge, for about ten minutes. Not enough time to run down to the Baltic Gallery but it did provide this lovely celphone-snapped view.

Indianpizza
The final product. This isn't so much a true merger of indian food and pizza as it's just channa paneer in a deep pizza shell. Further research must be conducted to fully integrate the "Indian" and "pizza". Gonna sprikle this with fresh cilantro, and then eat the thing. Back later.
Channa
I made some channa masala which is the "main" part of the pizza. This is fairly standard recipe - a sprinkling of hing, and just a spoonful of this weird "Burmese vindaloo" paste thats been in my fridge for awhile. But just a spoonful.
Paneer
An attempt to merge indian food and pizza. I wanted to top this with paneer so i fried the paneer lightly with some tomato puree and a hint of harissa.
rich hall!
holy shit rich hall has a new documentary! i didn't know he was still around! 'vanishing america' is a total classic.
