Pennsylvania, we blew it. I blew it by not registering for my absentee ballot earlier, when there was still time for me to follow-up after not receiving it. The rest of the state blew it apart from those few wonderful counties that CNN is shading dark blue, of which mine is not one of them.
Enough of this pseudo-live blogging stuff, I'm going to bed.
... that once Allegheny County's votes are full counted, we'll storm Obama to state-wide victory like we stormed over other teams in five Super Bowls.
Now they're talking about how the Clinton campaign is gonna argue that Obama can't be the general nominee because he hasn't pulled the easternmost and westernmost corridors, citing the 1988 election as a precedent. The "Casey democrats", they're saying, won't vote for him. Never mind that Casey himself has actually endorsed Obama.

Interesting that CNN is projecting Obama as having won a few counties in central PA, like the one attached to Harrisburg.
I'm confident that we're gonna deliver Pittsburgh for Obama. Well, not me personally, since my absentee ballot never showed up and therefore i didn't vote (THANKS ALLEGHENT COUNTRY DEPARTMENT OF ELECTIONS!!!!!).
I can't stand hearing you talk, but if I switch to MSNBC I'll hear the sound of Chris Matthews which is even worse.
And I may end up having to vote for Matthews in a few years....
Unfortunately for "local" commercials (like the really poorly shot one featuring State Senator Wayne Fontana - do these guys use After Effects 1.0 or something?) CNN removes their bottom graphic showing the delegate count. This count hasn't changed in six weeks - but just in case someone picks up a delegate during this Subway commercials, CNN will let me know.
CNN is saying "too early to call". This is good - means it doesn't show a 60-40 blowout. Of course if she wins by 58% I'm sure they'll spin it into an "amazing comeback" like David and Goliath or something.

but been digging some records this weekend -
WYE OAK - a two-piece indie pop/rock band, merge records, sounds a bit like versus or yo la tengo, and normally i would think 'so what' but the album is just, i dunno, great.
the new NOTWIST record starts off good - this is my first listen and i can't remember anything they've done in years but i still have a fond spot for the 'torture day' 7" i bought my freshman year of college ...
SKELETON CREW learn to talk and the country of blinds - so incredibly underrated and good.

i've put up a new content management system on icewhistle.com (i guess you can call it that). there's lots to do on it, but at least it's there now instead of the ugly crap that was there before.
me: (talking about an overseas colleague) "He's cool, he's really tall."
coworker: "Oh I'd like him then, I like tall people."
me: "Do you like Michael Jordan??"
(long pause)
coworker: "I've never met him."
I have to write a 3,000 word article about something I don't really understand for no particular audience - we don't know what journal we are going to submit this to, so that means I have to write it ultra-generically. Ugh.

apart from a couple american distros i've already agreed on deals with, i'm probably gonna not bother pushing the record in the US. it costs an average of $10 to ship an LP to the US - and it doesn't really get much cheaper for multiple copies. so if a distro orders 10 copies from me, it costs me £52.99 to send it. that's $104 in shipping + $100 for the wholesale price of the records - so they're looking at a $20 wholesale price, which will make it $35-40 in stores. which is absolutely insane. i'm not trying to make a ton of money but i'd like to break even. i don't really see how anyone in the US can afford records on British labels because the freight charges are so high right now. the exceptions will be distros that will take 100 copies at a time, but even still, are there 100 people in the US who can pay those prices?
even my direct paypal sales will be £10 for the record + £5 shipping (it costs £5.11 to ship 1 LP to the US) which will be $30.
ugh....
early morning peanut slaw preparation; my coworker gave birth to a baby boy. philip k dick selected essays and nonfiction on the (mostly empty) bus. strange loops of guitar and wordless vocals stuck in my head which i think might be something from red house painters. hair in front getting so long it's annoying on my forehead.

I've spent the day working on a new CMS for icewhistle.com in rails - something simple but customised to my needs. i then decided to integrate my CV into it, so i'm making database tables for different sections of the CV and cutting and pasting data from my old word CV. so far so good - there will just be a lot of tweaking around with the way it looks after this.

I can't decide between Holcomb or Mitchell. today Holcomb is winning but last week I listened to _Sound_ last week while doing the washing up and it was even better than i remembered....
